Online taxis have become increasingly popular in recent years, and for good reason. They offer a convenient and affordable way to get around, and they can be especially useful for people who don’t own a car or who are traveling in a new city. However, it’s important to be aware of the safety risks associated with using online taxis, and to take steps to protect yourself.
some safety tips for taking an online taxi in the UK
Choose a reputable company
There are many different online taxi companies operating in the UK, so it’s important to choose one that is reputable and has a good track record. You can read reviews of different companies online to get a sense of what other people’s experiences have been.
Check the driver’s rating and reviews
Before you get in the taxi, check the driver’s rating and reviews to get a sense of their reputation. Most online taxi companies allow you to see this information before you start your ride.
Make sure the car is licensed and insured
All taxi from Oldham to Manchester airport must be licensed and insured. You can check the taxi’s license plate number to make sure it is registered with the local council. You can also ask the driver for proof of insurance.
Share your ride details with a friend or family member
Before you get in the taxi, share your ride details with a friend or family member. This includes the driver’s name, license plate number, and the estimated time of arrival.
Sit in the back seat
It is generally safer to sit in the back seat of a taxi, especially if you are traveling alone. This gives you more space to yourself and makes it easier to exit the vehicle if necessary.
Be aware of your surroundings
Pay attention to where you are and who is around you. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, trust your gut and ask the driver to pull over.
Don’t be afraid to speak up
If you have any concerns about your safety, don’t be afraid to speak up to the driver. You can also contact the online taxi company directly if you have any problems.
Here are some additional tips:
Use the app’s safety features. Most online taxi apps have safety features that you can use to protect yourself, such as the ability to track your ride in real time and share your ride details with others.
Be careful when getting in and out of the taxi. Be aware of your surroundings and take care not to trip or fall. If you are carrying a lot of luggage, ask the driver for help.
Don’t drink and get in a taxi. If you are intoxicated, it is important to have a friend or family member drive you home.
Keep your phone charged. It is a good idea to keep your phone charged in case you need to call for help.
What to do if you feel unsafe
If you feel unsafe at any point during your ride, there are a few things you can do:
Ask the driver to pull over. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason, you have the right to ask the driver to pull over. You can then get out of the taxi and find a different way to get to your destination.
Call the police. If you feel that you are in danger, you can call the police. The police will be able to help you get out of the taxi safely.
Contact the online taxi company. You can also contact the online taxi company directly if you have any concerns about your safety. The company will be able to investigate the incident and take appropriate action.
How to report an unsafe driver
If you have had a negative experience with an online taxi driver, you should report it to the company. The company will be able to investigate the incident and take appropriate action, such as suspending or deactivating the driver’s account.
To report an unsafe driver, you can usually contact the company through their app or website. You will need to provide the driver’s name, license plate number, and the date and time of the incident. You should also provide a detailed description of what happened.
Conclusion
Online taxis can be a convenient and affordable way to get around, but it’s important to be aware of the safety risks involved. By following the safety tips above, you can help to ensure that your ride is safe and enjoyable.
Here are some additional tips:
Be aware of your surroundings and who is around you.
Trust your gut and don’t be afraid to speak up if you feel uncomfortable.
Keep your phone charged in case you need to call for help.
If you have had a negative experience with an online taxi driver, report it to the company.
As passengers, we usually choose a taxi company at random, choosing the first number found on the Internet or in leaflets. This is often not the best idea, and we shouldn’t leave such an important decision to chance – especially if we travel long distances or do so often.
So, how do you choose the best taxi company and travel comfortably, safely, and economically? You can read about all of this below.
Reputation and opinions
First of all, if we want to choose a good taxi company, the first step is to check the opinions and reputation of the individual companies. Why do you check store reviews and equipment tests and reviews when buying a new TV? And when it comes to your safety while traveling, don’t you too?
The company’s reputation is one of the best indicators of whether we will be satisfied with taxi driving. In the taxi market, especially in big cities, many companies operate in different ways. Their activities can be radically different in many respects.
It is therefore worth reading the opinions of other people who have already had the opportunity to travel with a given transport company before choosing a taxi company.
Knowing that the Internet is an excellent place to abuse and add fake reviews, we should check the reviews of taxi companies in different independent places. These can be Google Maps, internet forums, company location on directories or Groups on Facebook or local pages, and comments on blogs or YouTube. Thanks to this, we will form an opinion about the taxi company based on many ideas, and we will also be able to verify whether these opinions are trustworthy.
We should pay particular attention to the taxi companies’ strengths and weaknesses, which are evident from the statements. If some questions are raised many times by a large group of independent people, they may actually exist and be a plus and minus for a given taxi company.
The quality of the taxi service
Another essential element when choosing a taxi company is also the quality of service. When using a taxi in England, we most often want to drive comfortable, convenient and safe cars that will bring us safely to our destination.
It is essential that the driver is experienced and knows the city and is not just aware of navigation. Many people, when the transportation applications came to market, predicted the imminent end of the taxi as we know it.
Meanwhile, yes, companies that outbid each other for the lowest price began to drop like flies, unable to withstand competition from Uber or Bolt. But as practice has shown, inexperienced drivers are “tz. innovative companies”, often just learning to drive, are not in the city as soon as the navigation starts to fail.
What’s worse, their blind belief that Google Maps indeed leads well led to situations where one encountered such criminals driving against the stream or along the promenade.
We taxi drivers also use Google navigation. I often turn on Maps even when moving in a straight line between Leeds and Manchester; the only difference is that I know exactly where I’m going. Google only tells me where to expect traffic problems, thanks to my service is better.
Another point is that different taxi companies relate to the state of their fleet in different ways and the culture, hygiene, and quality of the drivers they represent. Some companies may even require maintaining a certain level of “white shirts, sometimes a suit, tie, cars regularly inspected by an audit committee” or quality standards.
And others, on the contrary, have no requirements for taxi drivers who want to work in a given company.
How can we check the quality of services provided by taxi companies?
First of all, we can check their website social media profiles and search for independent pictures about a given taxi company on the Internet. This alone will show us what cars are in a given taxi company’s fleet and how comfortable we will travel.
We can also take a closer look at taxis at stops or when they come next to us. Based on such observations, we can come to interesting conclusions about the condition of the drivers’ vehicles.
“Once, during a conversation with one of my colleagues, I heard opinions that this is not the case at all. Because if the company is, for example, very large, when it has 200,300-400 drivers, there will always be a black sheep.”
The truth is, my dears, I do. The more drivers that work in a given company, the more often you will statistically encounter one who needs to be more professional. This is everywhere, not just in taxis. But that is not an argument for taking this situation for granted.
In large companies, there must be a large number of so-called white-collar workers. More simply, a large number of employees must be responsible for maintaining quality. The president/owner is not able to control each driver separately when there are more than 200 of them.
In a well-run and well-organized company, the black sheep are trapped by the structures responsible for this in the company. And even if an employee is having a bad day, the passenger in good company knows very well that a call to head office is enough to set the driver in order. In a good taxi company, he is encouraged to do so because only such actions on the part of the passengers are able to bring the taxi company to the top.
So, if anyone ever tells you, it was bad because of statistics. Then, say to him that if that were the case, then statistically, for example, all Apple phones would be defective. After all, millions of units and relentless statistics.
However, the best idea to assess the quality of the services that the taxi companies provide is to test specific companies personally. Therefore, if we choose the most promising ones, we can travel with them and assess the quality of the services provided.
Having used the services of a given taxi company several times, we will be able to point out shortcomings, shortcomings or weaknesses, as well as travel time, pluses or other elements that are important to us.
I recommend this kind of testing, especially before signing a long-term contract for the provision of services. If we are traveling privately and there is a shortage, let’s say you can ignore it. Everything must be perfect when it comes to transporting your strategic customer.
Taxi price
The price is also important when choosing a taxi agency. It is often decisive for many people, and although it shouldn’t be, we can also let ourselves be guided by it – once we have selected several taxi agencies that meet our requirements.
At this point, without knowing which agency to choose, we can bet on the one that offers the best rides on a given route.
And in my opinion, when we talk about “price”, we should really be talking about value for money.
Not all passengers need a black, several-year-old Mercedes to drive, for example, to the store or the university. A fleet consisting only of hybrid cars will only be an argument for some. The most important thing is that the price should fit the quality of the proposed service and, at the same time, be within your budget.
As it happens in life, the cheapest is not always the worst, and the most expensive is the best. Often, it is the companies in the middle of the pack that offer the best ratio between price and quality. This is for many reasons. One of them is that they have the competition of the cheapest companies on their neck, and at the same time, they have to fight for the customer who is obsessed with these large but expensive companies.
As the owner of a small business, I would also like to make you aware of companies like mine. They have multiple vehicles and a few trusted drivers in their fleet. Of course, we will always be flawed for some. In large cities like Manchester, the number of vehicles in the fleet will also often put us in a losing position in competition with large companies.
Small businesses, on the other hand, have other tricks up their sleeves. With 5.10-20 drivers in the fleet as an owner, you are able to monitor the quality of almost every trip personally. The introduction of a solution that will improve quality often takes hours rather than weeks or months of discussion, as in large companies.
Small businesses like mine are able to tailor the offer to almost every customer individually. For such companies, every client is at a premium, which can be seen from the first contact. Sometimes, it’s worth giving small family businesses a chance. Based on my example, it often ends in a constant collaboration for several years.
When it comes to pricing, there isn’t one set factor. The taxi price list consists of several elements. First of all, there is the initial fee to enter the taxi, as well as four fees in different zones at different times of the day.
Companies also have their strategies when it comes to applying tariffs and zones. The fact that a taxi driver has the right to include a return ticket as soon as he crosses the administrative borders of UK does not mean that every company allows it in its internal rules.
This means that some taxi companies can transport customers more cheaply around the city during the day, others at night and others over longer distances. It is therefore worth considering the purposes for which we most often use taxis and checking the price list in that connection.
In addition, it will often turn out that the company offers fixed prices on some routes, which are known in advance when ordering.
Many companies also have loyalty cards, seasonal promotions, or, more recently, promotions for passengers who use orders through the company’s application.
Company size and additional services
When we initially check different taxi companies to choose the best one, it is also worth paying attention to the size of the company and the additional services it provides. Although, as I mentioned earlier, it should not be decisive when choosing a given company, and it is not the most important factor.
But in the case of orders “for now,” during rush hour when we have several taxi companies in advance, this can be useful information.
It is definitely worth choosing the largest and most numerous taxi companies in the first place. Thanks to this, we get greater predictability and a shorter time to order a taxi. Even with high demand for taxis at certain times of the day or on certain days of the year, eg, holidays, the taxi company will still have a certain number of free taxis that will be able to come from other parts of the city.
If we use the services of a small company, all taxis may be busy and we will have to wait longer for the order.
From the back, we in small business adapt the fleet to the needs of our regular customers and to the working conditions we specialize in. Sometimes, the number of customers exceeds the number of available drivers. In addition, the customer who has a contract with us will always be served as a priority. The result is that on New Year’s Eve or holidays, there may be a need for more free drivers for an out-of-town client. With a good organization of work, even if a micro-enterprise is able to cope with such a situation, it is enough to have contracts with suitable partners.
Sometimes, after accepting the order, I transferred the client to a friendly company without earning a penny to make the passenger happy.
It is worth checking companies in such difficult moments; most often, it is then that we will see who is serious about this business and who is just pretending.
What are the additional services of Taxi in the UK?
When choosing our favorite taxi company in the UK, which we will use for a long time, it is also worth checking the additional services offered by a given transport company.
These can be unique cars for the transport of disabled people, larger 6-8 passenger cars that can drive a large number of people, or premium cars that provide greater travel comfort.
Additional taxi services also include on-demand purchases, which can be extremely helpful when we are sick or pressed for time and cannot leave the house. Some taxi companies also provide basic roadside assistance in the form of fuel or a new battery as well as “fuel by cables”. This can be an advantage if you have a car and use a taxi occasionally. In such a situation, it is also worth having a good taxi company saved in the phone, which will save us in case of unforeseen events.
Many taxi companies also offer “taxi courier services,” this is a charming service when, for example, you need to get a product to your client urgently, and you cannot do it yourself at the moment. It is also a good option when you have to deliver an essential contract to the customer so that he can sign it and return it to you in the original on the same day.
VIP Taxi companies almost always offer additional services in handling weddings and transporting newlyweds. This is a fantastic opportunity, if only because on one invoice you get a service for a young couple to travel in a luxury limousine between the chapel and the wedding hall. And at night, the same company will be responsible for the transport of your wedding guests.
Some companies specialize in a particular industry; this primarily applies to smaller companies, although this is not a rule. For example, many smaller companies specialize in airport transportation. Here, I will add that no big company will perform an airport transfer or hotel transfer as well as a company that has specialized in it for years.
Some companies specialize in handling a specific category of passengers, “such as the carriage of seafarers.”
Finally, it is worth noting that not all companies have a taxi service for pets. Here, the most challenging thing is when it comes to transporting a large dog. While it is often no problem to transport small animals by the guardian in special transporters, a 30-40 kg dog is a challenge.
Ranking – Top 05 Taxi companies in the UK
To make your decision easier, I decided to create a “subjective” ranking of the best taxi companies in the UK.
Here, you will find out the pros and cons of the major taxi companies operating in England. This is my subjective ranking of companies; I created it based on my experiences and thoughts as a driver and as a passenger.
As a rule, I only include large companies with an established position. As I mentioned, a small company will certainly not give you a better service, better adapted to your needs. I know because I run one of those companies myself.
Unfortunately, due to their specificity, the evaluation of small companies is not so simple. In addition, there has been a lot of turmoil in the market recently, which would make the ranking literally consist of several units.
Here are some of the emerging taxi companies in the UK:
Airport transfers UK: They provide taxi services to All airports in the UK, but they are well known for Manchester airport taxi. Book with them anytime, anywhere in the UK.
MMA Transfers: It is an emerging taxi company providing intercity and airport transfers.
Street Cars UK: It is a ride-hailing company that is available in all cities in the UK.
Manchester Airport Trips: It is a ride-hailing company that is available in Manchester.
Summary
So, dear customers, it doesn’t matter to me which company you choose, it is important that you choose among those that are the best. Personally, there is nothing worse for me than competing in the market with “just any companies” where the only argument is the price. I hope that in this guide, I have brought you a little closer to choosing the best company for your needs.
Taxis are very popular transport in the urban environment. With its help, you can quickly get to your destination. In order for the trip to be as comfortable as possible, you need to know your rights and obligations before calling a taxi in the UK. They are described in our article.
Passenger rights
Taxi belongs to the category of safe transport. Its activities are regulated at the legislative level. Therefore, passengers have rights.
The first thing you need to know is that when calling a taxi by phone number, the client has the right to choose the car, its class (for example, economy or business), dimensions, and other parameters. He can also order the driver he wants to see behind the wheel – a man or a woman.
The fare is paid at the end of the journey. The price is shown by the taximeter, which is a device that multiplies the distance by a constant value set by the software. In this way, it is impossible to deceive the passenger; the process is fully automated. In addition, you can always contact the dispatcher service with this question. The specialist will justify the cost of the trip, as well as provide information about all current tariffs.
During the journey, the passenger can ask the driver:
open or close the window;
turn on music;
to make a stop on the way (but you should know that it is additionally paid for).
The passenger also has the right to choose a convenient route. How to drive — this should be communicated by the driver right at the beginning of the journey.
It is worth noting that in order for the rights of passengers to be respected, it is necessary to use only verified taxi services with a positive reputation on the market.
Obligations of passengers
Where there are rights, there are also obligations. The passenger must:
get out of the car only after it comes to a complete stop;
pay the full fare shown by the taximeter;
do not interfere with the driver while driving the vehicle.
do not smoke in the cabin without the driver’s consent;
do not drink alcohol in the car cabin;
does not ask the driver to exceed the speed in order to arrive at the destination faster;
postpone the call if the trip is canceled unexpectedly, preferably 10 minutes before the arrival of the car.
The passenger will also have to learn the driver’s duties. For example, he must arrive at the destination on time, be polite to the passenger, provide assistance in loading and unloading luggage, transport passengers along a pre-arranged route, call an emergency car if the car breaks down, report forgotten things in the car to the dispatcher, and much more.
When using taxi services, remember that in a passenger taxi, you are allowed to carry as hand luggage things that can easily pass through doorways, do not dirty or damage the seats, and do not interfere with the driver’s ability to control the car or use the rear-view mirrors. Luggage is transported in the luggage compartment of a taxi. The dimensions of the luggage must allow it to be transported with the luggage compartment lid closed.
To be sure of the integrity of the Service Provider you contacted, make sure that the necessary information is available, which should be placed on the front panel of the passenger taxi to the right of the driver. It should include the following information:
full or short name of the performer;
terms of payment for using a passenger taxi;
driver’s business card with photo;
name, address, and contact telephone numbers of the body providing control over the transportation of passengers and baggage.
In addition, a passenger taxi must contain rules for using the corresponding vehicle, which are provided to the passenger upon his request.
In the taxi cabin, there must be a permit to carry out activities for the transportation of passengers and luggage by passenger taxi from manchester airport to york.
In order to ensure the safety of passenger taxi passengers and identify passenger taxis in relation to other vehicles:
1) a passenger taxi must meet the following mandatory requirements:
undergo state technical inspection every six months;
have on the body (side surfaces of the body) a color graphic scheme, which is a composition of squares of a contrasting color arranged in a checkerboard pattern;
comply with the uniform color scheme of the body if the laws of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation establish such a requirement;
have an orange identification lamp on the roof;
be equipped with a taximeter.
2) the driver of a passenger taxi must have a driving experience of at least three years, confirmed by documents provided for by labor or civil legislation, or a total driving experience of at least five years;
3) a legal entity or individual entrepreneur engaged in the provision of services for the transportation of passengers and luggage by passenger taxi is obliged to:
provide maintenance and repair of passenger taxis;
monitor the technical condition of passenger taxis before leaving the line;
ensure that taxi drivers undergo a pre-trip medical examination.
Conflict situations in public transport are expected, which, if possible, we would like to encounter less often. But how do we do that? And do we always behave correctly on our part? After all, in a quarrel, two people are usually to blame. Knowing some rules of behavior in a taxi will help you come to an understanding and make your trip more enjoyable.
How to protect yourself while traveling
How to protect yourself while traveling using the services of an unfamiliar transport company is an unaffordable luxury. You may be deceived; at worst, you will lose your health.
If it so happens that you turned to an unverified company before the trip, write down the car number and send it to a loved one. Also, tell them where you will go and approximately when you should arrive at the place.
The safest place in a car is the back seat behind the driver. But the most dangerous thing is the front.
Even if the trip lasts 10 minutes, do not neglect your seat belt, as it can save your health and sometimes your life.
Do not distract the driver with unnecessary questions, clarifying a conflict, or talking on the phone. He must be focused entirely on the road.
When the driver has the right to refuse transportation.When you talk to the dispatcher, you must provide complete information about yourself, your luggage, and your companions. If, for example, you are traveling with a small child but did not warn about this in advance, the driver has the right to refuse the order. After all, transporting small children without a child seat is prohibited.
If the passenger is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
In cases where the carrier believes that the luggage may cause damage to the car.
When the driver suspects that any vehicle system is out of order.
Driver Responsibilities
There are many such rules, and they are regulated not only at the legislative level but also by the policy of transport companies.
But we will look at the most common rules that the driver is required to follow:
Before the trip, the driver must tell you about the future route, the final cost, and the car number.
follow the basic rules of politeness – do not be rude, be friendly.
Maintain cleanliness in the salon and be neat and tidy.
return forgotten items to the passenger or give them to the dispatcher, who will report the loss to the owner.
Etiquette rules for passengers in taxis and public transport
In addition to the norms established by law, there are also rules adopted by society:
There is no need to give unnecessary advice to the driver while moving. This can also include inappropriate questions, requests to speed up the trip, -advice on where to turn, etc. Such actions can provoke a conflict and sometimes an accident. After all, this is his car, and he has the right to drive it as he sees fit (within the framework of traffic rules, of course).
Regardless of the vehicle in front of you (car or bus), women and children are allowed through first. But men should leave the vehicle instead, followed by the weaker sex.
If there are not enough seats for everyone in a passenger taxi airport transfers keighley to manchester, the elderly, disabled people, and pregnant women get in first.
Loud conversations inside a vehicle are prohibited as they distract the driver.
The passenger must also keep the cabin clean – do not leave garbage, do not eat or drink while driving.
Nowadays we use taxis very often. At the same time, unfortunately, cases arise when taxi drivers, when traveling with us, passengers, do not comply with the Traffic Rules, for some reason they take us along a “very long path,” leave without waiting for us, refuse to accept us with our “beloved and only » domestic dog. To us taxi passengers, taxi drivers often violate our rights.
Taxi driver, turn on the taximeter!
You can distinguish a legal taxi car by the following identification marks: by the yellow color of the vehicle or yellow stripes on its body; by the orange lantern on the roof; by an identification mark of black squares arranged in a checkerboard pattern, as well as by a specific inscription with letters and numbers on the car. In addition, the taxi must be equipped with a cash register and a taximeter.
I draw your attention to the following. A taxi driver has no right to transport you with the taximeter turned off. He also has no right to hide the taximeter (its parts) from you or use a mobile application on your phone or tablet. But nowadays, there are specific technical innovations in the payment procedure, which the taxi driver must warn you about before the start of the trip.
You should also know you can cancel the trip 30 minutes before the agreed taxi arrival time.
This must be done the same way the taxi was ordered: through a dispatcher or a taxi application. If you cancel your order less than half an hour before the car’s arrival time, you may be required to pay the cost of the taxi. There are also cases when the dispatcher can add your phone number to the database of unwanted clients, making it difficult to call a cab in the future. If you do not use the ordered taxi airport transfers keighley to manchester within 10 minutes after the agreed time, the taxi driver has the right to leave without you.
You can carry other passengers, luggage and hand luggage, and pets as a taxi passenger.
The latter should be, in particular, in bags with a waterproof absorbent bottom. A dog muzzled and on a short leash can be carried by a passenger at least 16 years old, and an adult can carry a dog of a potentially dangerous breed. It is recommended to notify the dispatcher in advance about the transportation of animals. It will be good to know about the following. The number of passengers you can carry with you, as well as luggage, depends on the technical characteristics of the car. There is no charge for their transportation.
Passenger, choose your route!
The taxi driver must go to the final destination along the shortest route or along the way that you have chosen. The driver can change the course only with your voluntary consent.
During the trip, you must maintain public order in a taxi. If the passenger is drunk, swears obscenely, etc., the taxi driver can drop him off or contact the police. In this case, such a passenger will have to pay for the journey.
When ordering a trip, you can find out the estimated trip cost from the dispatcher or driver. Also, fares must be posted in a visible place inside the car. Tariffs can be set, in particular, for picking up a taxi, boarding it per 1 km of run, 1 hour of downtime, etc. For example, when ordering a taxi through the application, tariffs are set for getting into the car per 1 km of run and 1 min. Trips.
As a general rule, the trip is paid for at the end of it. But you can prepay at most the estimated cost of the trip. The amount of the fee is determined by KSAT or using the application. The taxi driver has no right to demand that you pay more. After paying for the trip, the driver must give you a receipt. A receipt should be sent to your email address if the application was used for payment. Usually, passengers pay for the trip in cash. However, taxis must be equipped with payment terminals for card payments. Suppose you believe your rights have been violated; for example, a higher tariff is indicated on the check than in the information posted in the cabin. In that case, you can complain to the carrier.
Under the passenger carriage agreement, the carrier must transport the passenger to the destination. A page is a legal entity or individual entrepreneur with a license to transport passengers. With him, you enter into a contract of carriage when using a taxi.
I notice and suggest…
If you have any complaints against the taxi driver, you can file a complaint against his actions. It is more convenient to express a complaint to the dispatcher by phone. He will forward it to the carrier for review.
If your oral appeal is ignored, then you have the right to send a written complaint. To do this, you need to know the name and address of the carrier. They are indicated on the front doors of the taxi car. The name is also stated in the taxi interior, with a photograph and full name. Taxi driver, I recommend sending such a complaint by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt. You also have the right to leave an entry in the book of comments and suggestions. Information about its location is indicated in the taxi interior. In addition, you can send an electronic appeal by email or through the carrier’s website (if available). I recommend you indicate your full name, residence address, telephone number, and the nature of the complaint (for example, you took the wrong road, made an extra circle, or asked for a refund of the overpaid amount). Put a date and signature. The written complaint must also include the name and address of the carrier. As a rule, you must respond in writing and by 15 days from when the airline received the complaint. A response will be sent within one month if additional verification is needed. If your demands are unmet, you can use other methods to protect your rights, such as turning to a consumer protection society or court. Before this, get an oral consultation from a lawyer in advance or use his legal assistance to draw up a written application to the relevant authorities. It also doesn’t hurt to know that a taxi driver can be held administratively liable in the form of a fine, particularly for an unreasonable refusal of transportation or for traveling with the taximeter turned off.
The size of the fine will depend on the degree of his guilt if it has been established.
If you are injured…
Example: a taxi car was involved in an accident, and you were injured – you have the right to insurance compensation. The amount of payment depends on the severity of the injuries. After an accident, please do not leave the scene, tell the taxi driver you were injured, and make sure that he calls the traffic police and an ambulance, or call them yourself. They will record how you were injured in the accident.
While waiting for special vehicles, I advise you to collect as much complete data as possible about the taxi (number, color, and make of the car), the carrier, and the taxi driver. Ask the driver for a receipt. However, your insurance claim will be allowed if the driver cannot issue it. Record the consequences of the accident using photographs and (or) video. If there are witnesses, write down their full details, including mobile or other phone numbers.
If suddenly you did not wait for the traffic police and emergency medical services to arrive or they were not called, go to a medical facility on the day of the accident. There, report the accident, any injuries, and under what circumstances you received them during the taxi ride. Healthcare workers will report this to the traffic police. This is necessary for the latter to carry out an appropriate check and confirm that the injuries were sustained in this accident.
Contact the carrier with a written request. In it, indicate the circumstances of the accident that you know, mainly who transported you and in what car, and what damage you received. Within five working days of submitting your application, the carrier must draw up a report of injury and submit it to the insurance company.
Contact the insurance company with a claim for payment of insurance compensation. In particular, the following must be attached to the application: documents from the medical institution and a report on the severity of the injuries received. Insurance compensation will be paid to you if legal grounds exist.
